Not 600m - it will look odd....according to what i remember they are increasing height of new minaarets at MASAA to 179m or 189m from the current 89m i think - someone correct me with the proper figures....

Minaaret = singular
Manaaraat = plural
Minaarets = ANGLICIZED plural so english speakers can easliy understand....

anyway...anything will go here....as it is an informal forum

I think the prophet's mosque has Minarat's sticking in between.

he means the prophets mosques also have manirates in the middle... still looks nice though but the gap between the expansion and the current state is very bad... thuse causing the manirates to look bad aswell !!

I really like the way they have kept old manaraats in the middle with old lighting at Prophet Mosque. I hope they will remain like that.

Yup, that's why I don't mind them being there, kind of gives you a good Idea of the border of the previous expansion.

It is the Egyptian branch of Dar Al-Handasa (Sha'er and parteners) دار الهندسة -شاعر ومشاركوه -مكتب القاهرة
This firm was established in 1956 in Bierut by Lebanese architect Dr Kamal Al-Sha'er كمال الشاعر . Now they had many branches in Lebanon,KSA,Egypt,Turkey and another Gulf countries. One of my collegues is working in the design team of Haram Expansion

Doesn't seem to factor in the expansion currently being done on the Safa wal Marwa part. Looks interesting though.
