Hey Greg, what do you think of the following suggestion.

A seperate subforum in the photoforums could be created for the photoblogs A.K.A. every day bump threads IMO. This cleans up the urban showcase section so you don't see the same threads all the time. You also give others the opportunity t o show their pictures. Otherwise their photothread will be bumped off the front page within half a day.. What do you think of this?

I think this is a good idea too. I don't think there is anything wrong with photoblog type threads but if there are too many of them they crowd out the other stuff. I think having the same 15 threads at the top of the forum every day reduces traffic to the urban showcase. This forum should be the centerpiece of the photo section but usually it has the fewest people viewing it.

I think it would be a good idea for people to consider posting bigger batches less often in their photoblogs, to allow other threads to hang around a bit without being pushed down so fast. Everyone is pretty proud of their photothreads, so we should try and give respect to others, too. If we update our threads several times a day, they will remain on top, but it is not really fair to others.
Happy New Year, everyone, and a big thanks to everyone who has contributed to these photo forums over the past years. I am constantly amazed at the photographic talent out there, and have learned much about many cities around the world!

What is it you want to post? If you have your own photos, you can post them in Urban Showcase section. If they photos you have obtained elsewhere, make the thread in the Cityscapes and Skylines section, but be careful to credit where you got the pictures.

Hi people, was wondering, I uploaded my first pictures to urban show case yesterday and they still haven't appeared. Any ideas when the mod will approve them? It was only actually about 4 or 5 but have some more to add when they're posted.

Hi there, and welcome to the forums.

You should probably get your postcount up and running a little. Make some good and useful posts here and there and you're good to go. We have this system to prevent spammers and trolls from posting right after they signed up. Thanks for understanding.

Ah I see. Do complements on the photo threads count as good and useful posts? I've been looming around reading these boards for time, mostly on the photo and London metro threads but never really have much to say (not to say I don't find it interesting/aren't appreciative - both apply hugely) and am defo no troll or spam man
