Well that's because this country is an ex-Soviet Republic and the Great Leader's Successor (just like Kim Jonk Il in the 80's) is reconstructing the city (Helsinki could use those empty roads) that will decay in 20 years... Guess they miss the Soviets. TKMStan is crazier than North Korea! Poor Russians who are a majority in the city now called Turkmenbashi.......

The infrastructure looks well maintained and with lots of detail, but I really doubt it's the best way to spend the money. Especially if those wide roads aren't used as much. Just curious: how's the social security in Turkmenistan? Free healthcare and a basic income for example the disabled like in the EU or are that still points of improvement?

Thank you! You're spot on, these roads from Turkmenistan are far more interesting! Would you have any more?

Free healthcare? So I guess Italy isn't part of the EU, cos it definitely ain't free there!

Since 1993, citizens have received government-provided electricity, water and natural gas free of charge FOX News . Medicine is free for citizens of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is a paradise on Earth!

It is new terminal, only intercity, suburban and city routes http://awtomenzil.gov.tm/index.php?l...=routes&spid=0

I know that only to perform consulting work for this project was chosen Inros Lackner SE (Germany). Official site talking about 2 billion USD.

The OP said it is an INTERNATIONAL bus terminal.

If the great sweet dear tender leader wants an INTERNATIONAL bus terminal in a country where everyone flies long distance then let him have his INTERNATIONAL bus terminal.

Buses in an INTERNATIONAL bus terminal will leak oil and mess up the marble floor. You can't be doing that, putting buses in it like.

I'm assuming the only truly international buses are bound to Mashhad, Gorgan, or at maximum furthest, to Bukhara

You are right, not free. But it has a pretty low maximum. In the Netherlands you pay a fixed monthly fee (just over 100 euro's, with a big refund if you have a low income) and 360 euros of own risk. Beyond that, it's free. I guess it's pretty similar in Italy?

/EDIT: And for Turkmenistan, it's great to hear that it's that well arranged. In that case I've got too little additional knowledge to be against oversized infrastructure.

Where are all the people? It looks like a luxury ghost town! All the bus stops empty?
