Eskişehir ile ilgili başlıkların tümünde linkler hep bozuktu, yeni bir başlık açmak gerektiğini düşündüm...
Eskişehir is a city in Central Anatolia and the capital of Eskişehir Province. The name Eskişehir means Old City in Turkish. However most of Eskişehir was rebuilt after the Turkish War of Independence (1919-1922). It is a well-functioning attractive place, but with few old attractions. Eskişehir is one of the largest industrial centres of Turkey, with several modern industries, producing trucks, home appliances, railway locomotives, fighter aircraft engine, agricultural equipment, textiles, brick, cement, chemicals, processed meerschaum and refined sugar. Here are the photos of this little and smart Anatolian Turkish city.

progressive Anatolia basligi olmamis bence.

I always liked eskisehir a lot, since I was a kid... It is such a cute and modern city. It actually resembles Ann Arbor somehow... The feeling does... A college town with great people. Eskisehir is one of the best cities of Turkey, I'd actually put it in top 5 or so. Also it seems like it that it improved quiet a lot since I saw it last. I was amazed when I saw it and I am sure I would go unconcious when I see it next. Love it... Thanks for the pics.

Well, I guess when you have an actual professor who knows how to run a city and asks for help from professionals when/if needed, this is what you get as a result!! It's not impossible to do this. It's been done before and could be done in Turkey - be it Eskisehir, Ankara or even Istanbul if tried. It's all about planning in my opinion... For more information please refer to Eskisehir 2010 Stratejik Plan on this page: http://www.eskisehir-bld.gov.tr/ |

Mayor of Eskişehir is Rector of the University, he changed so much. IMO he is the best mayor in Turkey.

Eskisehir is beautiful and it should be a model city for the rest. We need to somehow choose our mayors from educated people.
Artagun: How can you say Eskisehir is like Ann Arbor? I've been to Ann Arbor, and it is a small college city. Eskisehir is a much bigger city and it has more to offer imo. Plus Eskisehir is more European than American. |
