SHEFFIELD | Sheaf Square | 78m | 23 fl | Pro

Sorry foxy. (Could you not have just edited the title? )

TBH, we don't actually know the number of floors, or height of this building, so the title is my estimates.

The building is designed by MAKE architects, the people behind the Gherkin in London. It will house 200,000 sqft of high-tech office space for 'Creative' and Digital industries. Also it contains 'sophistical retail operations' (whatever that means - probably McDonalds and a KFC ), and high quality managed apartments.

This building is slap bang next to the station, and on one of the main arteries through the city, so will be seen by millions of visitors and will hopefully become a landmark not only locally, but nationally too.

Like I said, it's right next to the station in Sheffield. We don't know when construction is due to start. It's phase 3 of a development which is currently on construction of phase 1, so it could be a few years away yet.

yes and of course the design will have a few alterations, but it seems to have been very well accepted so far amongst locals.

Some clearer renders here:

I think its a great looking building but the colours are all wrong, if it was jet black that would be very cool and give a mysterious feel to it which people would be drawn to.

This is great for Sheffield, I also like the design and curves.

Reminds me of an abstracted version of:

looks a bit phallic in that first shot, but a cool design for a small city

Whether it's small or not, is there any need to add that to your comment. It just sounds like you're purposefully trying to be condescending.

And yeah, it does look quite like some Arizona rock formations. Think it would be better in a more local stone.

I like the form of the building sort of, but I'm not sure the colours used have any relevance to the local vacinity? it just looks iconic for the sake of being iconic and in some ways closed up due to the heavy use of closed balconys from what i can see in the renderings.

the colours are subject to change. and the reason why it liiks like its trying to be a landmark is because it IS. the council asked the architects to design a landmark

I don't like the colours. I like the shape though.
