Not so fast! Which country/territory exactly? Hong Kong or mainland China?

Nanshan district, so that's mainland I guess... unless there's some trickery involved.

Edit: I knew it!

The bridge was constructed separately by Hong Kong and mainland China, according to the maritime border. Upon its opening, the Shenzhen Section of the bridge, along with the Shenzhen Bay Control Point, were leased to Hong Kong and made under Hong Kong's jurisdiction for an initial period until 30 June 2047. As such, Hong Kong laws, including traffic laws, instead of the laws of the PRC, apply on the whole bridge and within the control point.

Ok, even I didn't know that. When I saw the border in GE, I realized it was in HK, despite being on the "Chinese" side of the sea. Then I accidentally clicked on the image from 1979 and realized that the border crossing used to be sea/water.

Wait... why did HK have to lease it from PRC when the area was always part of HK (just that it was water)?

My guess would be that the GE shows the border including the rented area. Or it just isn't correct at all.

No, the border was already like that before, I've just checked my atlas from 1980s.
