I don't have a clue on this one either. It looks like California, maybe northern California or the Sierras or maybe Montana, but I haven't located it. I suppose it's not an Interstate Highway, perhaps not a freeway at all.

Yeah, me too. I've spent the better part of an hour figuring out which parts of the US were that forested (with the West Virginia and surrounding area being my prime suspect), then trawling through Google Maps. Either I'm looking in the wrong place, or I've missed it along the way somewhere...

Really? With all that sand (or whatever it is) in the median, and between the trees in some places, it looks to me far too dry for West Virginia. Maybe not desert, but verging on it. So I was thinking the Southwest somewhere. But once I realized that the intersecting road might not be a main road I said, screw it.

EDIT: It that vegetation is even trees, as opposed to sage or something.

Oh, all right...

Two more hints:

-The roads in this image are NOT part of the Interstate system; and
-There is something very, very unique about the structures of those two bridges.

Don't forget that I'm not really that familiar with your part of the world at all!

What's so unique? The fact that the road is on 3 levels?

It actually looks like all three roads aren't paved (mostly), and as bogdymol said it is on 3 levels.

Those main roadways are all concrete or asphalt paved and three levels is not why those bridges are very unique.

OK, another hint:

-A man-made USA national icon, extremely well-known throughout the World, is located less than ten minutes' drive time from this location.

Yep, the 'unique' nature of those bridges' structures is that they are built of wood and are now nearly 50 years old. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_Wye
