I'm fairly sure it is US. It looks Appalachian given the mountain shape.

I remember one state in the NE uses that kind of crash barrier very often. Is it in Connecticut?

Maybe that or NY or PA?

I'd agree, that sure reminds me of one the northerly portions of CT 8, perhaps near Winsted or Torrington.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, CT-8. Unfortunately, I already scanned through the highway on Googlemaps and couldn't find any interchange and surrounding road area with those contours.

The only interchange i saw that it could possibly be was the interchange at East Litchfield, CT, but the parallel local road (look on the right of the picture) is separated from the road by a stream at East Litchfield.

Regardless, I'm sure you'd have immediately recognized it if it were CT-8.

I'm thinking something in Vermont (US 4 or US 7?).

No correct guesses so far. This road is going to be upgraded to an Interstate in the future. The stretch in the picture runs paralell to a river in a valley.

US 15 in either New York or Pennsylvania? (future I-99)

Or perhaps the NY-17 that would be I-86 in the future?

It appears to arid, so my wild guess is I-10 near Phoenix, AZ.

That's not correct. And the area is not arid at all More like the opposite. It is an Interstate Highway though.

Yes it is

It's actually over 20 miles of downtown, even outside the Perimeter (outer beltway). Atlanta has grown quite a bit in this direction and this road has enough capacity to handle additional growth.

Road identification thread

Do you know where was this photo taken?:
