E34, A21 just after Dutch-Belgian border, some several kilometres before first lay-by. Direction Antwerpen.

I guess he means A21, since that's E34 A12 has no E-number.

Since even Chris did not get it right, I guess the puzzle is unfairly difficult so we need some extra clues:
- BeNeLux.
- a low-value prime number

Sorry I mistyped the number, it should be A21.

I meant this place. Maybe it is not a lay-by, though I would not consider it as service area neither. There are not any typical for service areas facilities there. Just a car park. Btw. this place is full of drug dealers, and people with doubtful reputation.

If I can guess again i would say the piece of the road presented by MAG is N4.

10 points to Vallex (junctions were in fact 33-34) and an incredible 20 points to Chris.
You are both extremely talented!

And, yes, it's about time Chris got banned from taking part.

I took the picture in the summer of 2009 after a 2-hour, white-knuckle, bumper-to-bumper, capacity-volume drive from Rotterdam. Suddenly the traffic density dropped off as though someone applied a guillotine and from then on until the junction of A30 with A31 (in Germany) the driving was reasonably relaxed and civilised.

So there are places in the Netherlands where there are open roads as far as the eye can see.
But blink and you'll miss them.

The concrete pavement of that section is gone by now, by the way. It's smooth asphalt.

um, the way you said it's in the same area I thought it might just be a different angle of the same interchange.

I definitely got the small aerial pic right.

(edit: ok, just realized you also said it's different, silly me)
