If you think about it all Japanese terminal stations are what you call "Multi-modal" stations since they act as Bus terminals, major taxi station as well as rail and subway stations.

Yeah, nearly every major station in Europe is multimodal.

Some good examples from my knowledge:

Berlin Hauptbahnhof (GER)
Munich Hauptbahnhof (GER)
Manchester Piccadilly. (UK)
London lots of stations, Euston, Liverpool Street, Victoria and Waterloo to name some big ones (UK)
Hamburg (GER)
Hannover (GER)
Liverpool Lime Street (UK)

Just take a look at those.

Toronto's Union Station is a good example, I used it as a case study in an essay last semester. I took a historical approach to how it developed into a hub through time... if you like, I can post that section of my essay.

Stockholm Central is still missing a few modes, but will be getting tram line ending there in a few years and HSR will hopefully arrive in under 20 years. Nearest ferries (passenger only) are maybe 200m from the main entrence so those almost count. The one possible new mode in the future would be a heliport, but that's sooo not gonna happen (nimbys and preservationsts would go ballistc).

Subway, bus taxi?Every metro station here. If we count trams too, then like 50% of the entire system of Budapest public transport is multi-modal.

Why not Stratford station in London? Served by two metro lines, a light rail line, commuter rail, numerous bus routes and I think it has a car park as well.

How about any mid-sized airport? Aircraft, bus, taxi, car, often rail...

Nice to also revive this thread Nazrey

So I'll give a short view of some of the most important Dutch multimodal stations. No, not those 400 which seem to have a bus, train and taxi available, but also while having and trams (or metro) and inter-city trains simultaneously:

- *#Amsterdam Centraal (tram+metro), international
- Amsterdam Amstel (tram+metro)
- *Amsterdam Sloterdijk (tram+metro)
- *Amsterdam Zuid (tram+metro)
- *, **Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena (metro)
- Den Haag Centraal (tram+semi-metro)
- Den Haag Hollands Spoor (tram), international (for how long?)
- **Den Haag Laan van NOI (tram+semi-metro)
- Delft (tram)
- *Rotterdam Centraal (tram+metro), international
- **Rotterdam Blaak (tram+metro)
- Rotterdam Alexander (semi-metro)
- **Schiedam Centrum (tram+metro)
- *#Utrecht Centraal (tram), international
- *Arnhem Centraal (trolley bus), international

*at least 4 train branches served before a new IC station serving all ICs (Zwolle also has many of them)
** not for all IC trains
# bus terminal of equal level (also look for Breda for a perfect example)

Future: Maastricht, serving a tram and which will be the only one with a tram to another country. For the rest this station already has a connection with Belgium with one to Germany slated to operate for 2019.

And last but not least (if we change the metro and tram for something totally different)
- *Schiphol. Truly one of the most interconnected transport nodes in the world. Not only in the air but its combination with the train station underneath which is the only one serving all provinces, is making this station extremely important.

Prohibit the construction of new single-family dwellings without stacking apartments in Amsterdam (A10), Rotterdam (motorway ring), The Hague, Utrecht (outer ring), Eindhoven (ring), Tilburg (ringbanen) and Groningen (provincial ring)!

And prohibit the use of agricultural land for new dwellings!
