There are few reason, first of all 75-80% of all construction sites are now frozen in Ukraine, some sites are slowly coming to live rest are still on hold. This is due to financial crisis as banks are not giving any credit resources to companies and to the public, mortgages are actually not approved by banks at all for more then 4 months now. All commersial property is used to be built using IPO or banks money, now these channels are also cut down so companies have to work really hard to get some money. This company KDD managed to signed some agreements with bank before crisis started also they got about USD 160 mln from IPO last year so they are investing about USD 70 mln into thier two project including Sky Towers this year, which is obviosly not enough, as only this project requires about USD 400 mln in total to complete, so they have to invest at least USD 150 mln each year but it looks they don't have such money now and they are hoping to invest something and hoping that situation gets better next year. If it's not, I am afraid this project will go on hold as well

This is bad news. It sounds like the liquidity situation is far worse in Ukraine than in England. Are there any realistic alternatives for fundraising? A number of projects are going ahead in London (even in these harsh times) because of the injection of Middle Eastern money. What are Ukraines prospects for attracting foreign investment, it would be a shame to see these projects fold.

May be i'm a bit too late, but there is what i have for today. Photos made by me at 30.03.09. On the build area i have seen almost 30 builders in action

the tower is looking nice! However and typical of any rendering...they didnt put the true surrounding area. Any plans for the neighbors...I have to admit, they are quite the eyesore for such a nice tower?

You are almost right, but i'm sure that situation will change to year of 2012. If you wanna look at the all district i can find some photo. Wait few minutes...
