@moustache
You are a w*nking Frenchman! I took a look at your Replys in serveral Forums.
The Threads are about buildings in London, Moscow, Chicago and even New York. In these Threads you are telling the same thing: 'This is Ugle, that is a joke...etc'. You are a joke!

Sorry, I can't read french. If you say you're having critic on your local buildings and plans, I'll believe you.

It is true that this neighbourhood is not the most lively place in Rotterdam, but compared to how it was like a few years ago it's getting much better with all the new resident towers in this area. This 100Hoog building isn't that spectaculair and not a magnificent piece of architecture, but it's decent, not ugly and a great contribution to reviving this area. The commercial units look good too plus the apartments with balconies on top of the commercial units will really contribute to giving this area a less deserted appearance when all the inhabitents in summer will sit on their balconies. Thus not only the tower, but especially the lower part of this building, seems to be promising for this neighbourhood. Btw, the bridge which you don't see on these rainy pictures is a beautiful bridge.

Also check out this render for a better impression of how it's going to look like, which shows that it's going to make a great contribution to the neighbourhood:

This webcam is also very useful and great to watch:

and I think that the view from up here will also be very nice towards the river and the skyscrapers at the Wilhelminapier:

the commercial unites and appartements with balconies on top of it:

The pictures are not made from the most beautiful side. So I can understand that an "oustsider" thinks these are ugly buildings. Though they are not the most beautiful buildings in the world but in real and perhaps photographed from an other side they are better looking. Unfortunately our marketing and PR are not the best in this case too.

@moustache
A forum is a social gathering. Most people come to social gatherings to, well, be social. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to make friends with everybody, but waltzing in denouncing all buildings ugly without any further explanation (at first) puts you at the other extreme of the spectrum. You could at least try to be friendly and attempt at some nuance. I know the area very well, and there certainly some buildings of acceptable quality. You might not like them, but calling all new buildings ugly is simply put too easy.

This one also shows how the tower and the lower block with apartements and commercial units will be a big boost for the environment:

Not using arguments to support your opinion seems to be very poor to me.
