I am surprised that nobody has placed Mt Rushmore, which is located in South Dakota.

Wouldn't that be a little like when the Taliban destroyed the Buddhas?

For anyone who is not familiar with the presidents on Mt Rushmore, here they are from left to right: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.

The 3 more impressive (IMO) in this thread are:

1- Mother Russia in Volgograd (OMG!)
2- Ushiko Buddah
3- The Great Sphinx (most of all, for when it was built)

Hope they finish Crazy Horse Memorial some day, it'll be a new wonder!

The biggest in Switzerland is probably the Lions Memorial

(don't know if it really is a statue)

The Bavaria in Munich is also quite big

There was a plan to put John F. Kennedy as the fifth but never happened

Colosso di San Carlo Borromeo - Arona (NO) - ITALY

This giant statue of Saint Charles Borromeo was commissioned by Cardinal Federico Borromeo, and construction began in 1614, completed in 1698. At 35.10 m it was the largest bronze standing statue in the world, second only to the Statue of Liberty.
