Thats the development I mentioned earlier. there is another one scheduled on an entire city block I think on Redmond Wy and 166th but it isn't scheduled for completion till 2012. I am betting that the most of the south side of Cleveland will all be 6 and 7 story mixed use apt or condos eventually. Downtown is really going to have an urban feel to it.

I agree. DT Redmond is turning into a walkable center with critical mass. And good bike connections, which is why I know it.

It's really nice down there. Some good food and interesting shops.

Wow. I rarely go to Woodinville (around 1-2 times a year) and didn't know much about what going on there lately.

Get there early the news said they are expecting 30k people over the next 3 days and there is only 2,500 parking spaces. I live about 1 1/2 miles from there and there is no parking allowed anywhere near the place. I am going to check it out Monday night since Tuesday is a holiday. There were some shots of the inside on the news today and it looks very very nice inside.

Now that I think of it I guess there is no such thing as getting there early since it is open 24/7

Proposed buyer for Eastside Campus backs out
11/19/2008

The proposed buyer for Group Health Eastside Campus in Redmond (now vacated) has terminated the transaction. The planned sale of this property was the culmination for our five-year East King County strategy, which we launched in 2003.

Given the current state of the economy in general—and the real estate market specifically—Group Health will pull the Eastside Campus from the market for a period of time. This will allow us time to assess options and opportunities for the asset, in consultation with our Board of Trustees.

Additional news will be posted on next steps as they develop.

Until today I didn't think that MS was stopping projects already underway. Bad news.
I rarely post in this thread so I hope Redmond news is OK here. I heard from a three different people today that MS building 81 which is well underway (garage phase?) will be stopped. Two tower cranes will probably be taken down. Apparently this is a Turner job. It's bad for Turner to have the big airport parking garage job stop and now this one.

I understand Building 83 which was to be built next to 81 was put on hold a while ago before its construction began.

Redmond DRB document for 81/83 (at a glance - what a bunch of lame comments about color and personal taste instead of what good design might be!)

Folks, don't forget there is this thread for non-downtown Bellevue Eastside projects.

It looks like another block on Cleveland is getting ready for more development. There is not a land development sign up but all the businesses have vacated. If this is another one of the 6 to 7 story condo developments it will make 3 huge complexes in a row giving dt a whole new dense feel. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

^ You just linked to the Google maps homepage.

http://www.redmond.gov/insidecityhal...CityCenter.pdf

That has a summary of all current projects in Downtown Redmond. In addition to the recently completed "The Cleveland," we have the Cleveland Street East and West projects, totaling 250 units. There's also a 150 unit project at 16161 Cleveland Street, right by The Cleveland.

And the Redmond Riverpark project, which isn't technically on Cleveland but is pretty close by.

Not sure what in particular you're referring to, though...

Well they put a fence up around all those buildings so I guess they have just answered my question. The block east of the Cleveland is going to be demo'd. So there will be a solid line of new 6 and 7 story condos all they way from the slew to 162nd. This is a dramatic change to the look of dt Redmond.
