That's the best, most detailed render of the tower we've seen yet. Instead of dark voids at the crown, it looks like there's actually some decorative brass colored elements. If it ends up looking like that, it'll be a definite modern classic.

Agreed. That's the sort of detailing I've been missing in some of RAMS's designs. Looks killer.

If a smaller, costly conversion development in a less than ideal location like Walker Tower can have yards of decorative panels, it makes you wonder why the great Robert Stern's towers, or any other new construction, don't have such ornamentation:

Maybe Walker Tower proved their desirability and economic feasibility.

Yes, more detailing like Walker Tower, please. I mean, not necessarily on 30 Park, but on any stone-clad postmodern buildings that refer to the Art Deco glory days. If you're gonna do it, do it right.

First time I notice the towers in the bottom of that pic. They're pretty bad. What are they?

They're apartments, called Gateway Plaza, badly managed and maybe the worst in Battery Park City. The views must be awesome though.

So true. Most of the towers in this area are beefy. This one will be very slender.

It's on 18 floors, it would've been on around 19-20 floors by now, but I'm guessing the new tower crane slowed down construction for around a week?

It should rise even faster now with the tower crane. 2 more floors then first setback and mechanical level
