They put up some very decorative pieces of the Church St (ie, west) facade.

Stunning, this building is amazingly beautiful. I love the lovely concrete segments. This tower is surely the epitome of neo-art-deco architecture being constructed today! What a marvelous work of art by the architect, bravo

This is my favorite cladding of any tower being built today. I see glass towers as the equivalent of vinyl siding for skyscrapers.

But seriously. It is nice to have a city that isn't comprised entirely of hard, smooth surfaces like glass and metal. The added texture and matte surface of this cladding is pleasant to humans. Imagine trying to sleep in a metal and opaque glass bedroom. Not so appealing right? In my opinion this is true of exterior spaces too. Those materials have advantages, but a pleasant ambiance is not one of them.

I can't help but feel it sounds sinister when someone says "x' is appealing to humans." It just doesn't sound right.

But change is good once in a while.

This was the only U/C scraper I missed in Manhattan when I was last there in May and how I regret it. I'll be there in September though and looking at these photos I simply cannot wait to see it. By FAR my favorite skyscraper u/c anywhere in the world right now.

What's going on with construction here? It was going up a floor a week before, now it's stalled out.

Work will be resuming back to it's normal pace now because before they were waiting for the concrete on the mechanical floor to cure. Now they are finally taking off the forms and started work on the next floor.
