Exactly. Real sandstone is a nightmare to work with especially for a tower of this height. To achieve the same effect, concrete is the only way to go. Limestone is usually more gray-whitish. Stern chose this color and this material quite deliberately.

It is currently half way to its full 937 feet. I don't know how many floors it is, but the cladding is already through the first 20 stories.

Not quite it is ~ 425ft/129m

But it is great to see it moving along quickly again

I remember I visited the site back in January. It was around 5 floors above ground. Now it's halfway to the top! Can it top out by spring next year? Great progress!

They seem to be back at the pace of a floor a week. It's 82 floors, they're somewhere around the 35th floor right now by my estimate. So maybe in a year they'll top out.

No, they are doing about 2-3 floors a week. In fact, a new floor will be made today.

I love the location because this building will rise with the World Trade Center and the design is great too

2-3 floors a week is very fast, thus will be almost topped out this year.

According to my documents, the superstructure will be done (T/O) by 1/2015.

They poured a floor on Monday, and then poured another today, and are framing the next floor already. They seem to have accelerated construction.

when you have a bunch of identical floors it goes really fast. They are doing a floor every 2 days. today they poured the columns and laid the rebar for the floor. Tomorrow they will pour the floor, and the concrete they're using sets so fast that while they are pouring the second half they are already putting up forms for the next floor on the first part. Lather, rinse, repeat...
