It's just colored concrete but it actually looks pretty decent.

It's a welcome change among all those glass facades with new buildings and it fits into its surroundings.

Lol. There is just no privacy, not even in tall towers.

Lining up 30 Park Place with Woolworth and the height seems to be roughly 165m tall!

Nicely done! Messing around with sketchup for a few minutes, I got pretty much same thing measuring up; (well in feet )

Had a chance to check in on 30 Park Place today.

Gotta be honest, I find the cladding to be underwhelming, and the details kind of just tacked on as an afterthought.

When you compare it to the stone facade of the Woolworth, it's so strikingly obvious why the precast textured concrete panels are lackluster.

But hey, that's just my two cents. It will probably look a lot better with the windows installed.

The cost of a building that would match Woolworth in detail and materials would be huge.

That is one of the reason why modern architects don't like going back to historical styles - you almost can't build something that would be as good as buildings from early 20th century or earlier.

FYI, the Woolworth building facade is not stone either, but terracotta and concrete!

I can't believe how quick this thing is going up! I went by it a few times in the last few months and everytime I'm amazed at the progress. Everything is shooting up around Manhattan its so hard to keep track nowadays

The bottom 4 floors are limestone. The rest is terracotta.
