I do, too, VG! It really is classic New York. If I were looking to buy downtown, this would be the place (The Woolworth and 70 Pine would be up there, too).

This is just the beginning of the downtown Renaissance.

I expect a modern masterpiece at 80 South Street.

While 125 Greenwich's design is disappointing, I love its height.

Amazing times in the world capital!

Art Deco rules!!

The massing of this tower, as well as the homage to the great NYC towers of the 1930s, makes it my favorite new skyscraper. What a fantastic gift to Gotham. Not only does art deco rule, but so does Robert A.M. Stern.

The slender, soaring setbacked shapes and the materials look pretty good. It really calls Gotham and is a worthy neighbor to the Woolworth Building.

I just wish they had gone for more interesting Art-Decoish details (why not even ornaments) and a more structured window-pattern with dark-framed lattice windows.

You can see the shape of the crown reflected in the concrete:

Despite being almost supertall, It just looks tiny between the other towers.

It's a rather slim tower, no way it could be compared in size to its enormous neighbours at the WTC, or even Brookflied Place, despite being lower

This picture makes me very happy. It's a proof that we can succesfully look into the past with nice retro designs, as well as build beautiful modern structures. It wasn't that obvious in the 90's...
I'm telling ya, I like full-glass buildings but I never thought that they are saving grace of architecture, especially in NYC. Structures like 8 Spruce Street, 30 Park Place, 111W, 432 PA, Tower Verre and others are a great statement for that theory.
