I think the Verizon building looks actually quite nice. A fine piece of architecture representing the most striking features used in buildings of that era

It's one of a kind. My only complaint is that it looks like it hasn't been cleaned since it was built.

I was just thinking this. I do hope they make the renovation discussed a little while ago to add offices (and thus windows) to about half of the tower. And when they do, hopefully they powerwash the hell out of that concrete.

The still seedy and forlorn Church Street is picking up. As per TRD, This little POS Coffee House/Liquor Store, located a little north of 30 Park Pl., will soon be demolished.

Here’s what the $10M-$20M NYC investment sales market looked like last week

2.) Greystone Development picked up a Tribeca development site at 108 Chambers Street for $17 million. The developer purchased the plot from Ashkenazy Acquisition, who paid $6.1 million for it in 2013. The single-story building sits on the corner of Church and Chambers Street, and is home to Imperial Coffee House and City Hall Wine and Spirits. While no permits have been filed yet for the 2,000-square-foot building’s demolition, Greystone has nearly 15,000 buildable square feet to work with at the site.

That's great news!

It's a modern classic.

Would have loved it to be ALL real limestone(if I've read correctly only the higher levels have limestone cladding, the rest is precast concrete) but if it looks as good when ready as these renders lovingly depict damn right it's a modern classic! If it really is this good, just imagine how incredible Stern's Central Park tower will be!

Agreed, this building can rival the greatest art deco gems. It might not have such a decorative facade, however its shape is truly art deco

I'm, so, loving THIS gorgeous tower greater than anything else that's risen in NYC in decades. IMO, it says ' Manhattan ' better than any of the myriad of blue-glass menagerie proliferating NYC.

this says new york unlike the glassy towers nearby would have preferred a new pair of stainless steel clad super towers next door and 5 smaller buildings and a memorial made from the skeleton of the old trade center and the sphere stronger than what was there before and just as iconic but alas we have to live with a sea of reflective blue glass blocking this

The only thing I wish is that they had more detail on the facade these days. Surely there is a way to add some pre-molded detail to those blank walls without breaking the bank!?
