As a NYer, I can tell you that this building has gained a lot of fans and admirers in a town where the latest construction site is either not even noticed or greeted with suspicion and dislike.

as do I. This is currently my favorite NY project of Silverstein since the switch to BIG for 2 WTC. By the way, here's the tower in its... new context. 2 WTC looks ok minus those cantilevers. 3 WTC looks ridiculous without spires.

They have destroyed 2WTC. Honestly. It looks like an amateurish mess now. I struggle to find the correct words to describe how grotesque this new plan actually is. I only hope that the developers see the public response and revert to the old design. At least it highlights the beauty of a true skyscraper, 30 Park Place. I guess.

In the picture 30 Park Place is thinking, "Is that thing behind me?"

I would describe at as a paraplegic kindergardener's attempt at stacking boxes although I'm pretty sure the kid would do way better.
And I'm not meaning to insult disabled people.
I too still hope that the criticisms will take flight out of SSC as well and that maybe there'll be a change for the better at 2WTC...

I hate the changed 2WTC design.
I want four gentle pillars with dignity in Ground Zero.

I love this little cluster. This is true New York. Gothic and art deco(-ish) towers is what made New York and will keep New York unique forever. More like this, and less 2WTC's.

Off topic:
What are the cranes in the foreground for? I am guessing they are for Shop's seaport tower. Please correct me if I am wrong.
