Agreed. Most contemporary architects seem to have forgotten about the addition of a crown, and instead opt for a boring flat-roof or a bizarre protrusion of metal which they claim is a 'spire'.

Top is looking great, will be cool when occupied and lit. I think the style is great for the area. Nice to see a classic looking tower being added to lower manhattan considering all the newer glassy towers going in.

The building is stunning, not your typical new building completely clad in glass, this is something new, and I hope they build more like it

6:30 am (8.27.15) i phone 5 picture from Church and Chambers. The early morning (first hour of daylight) really makes a nice effect on some of the buildings

My only criticism of this building (and it's very slight) is that the crown/parapet/mechanical floors looks too large in my opinion. If the top perceived floor were pushed inward about four feet (the same amount as the 4th perceived floor from the top) it would make it just enough smaller that there would be a tapering effect, and that would be a nicer finish to the building. Still, I give this building a 9 out of 10.

I agree. For me, the top is the best part of this tower.

We love this spot... to your right and behind you, you'll have a great view of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. That boardwalk goes all the way (behind you in this case, about 1 mile or so) to the "Circle of Flags", which is directly behind the Statue of Liberty, less than 1/2 mile away.
