Toronto doesn't need the Bills as much as the Bills need us. In a league of 33 teams, the Bills rank 29th in terms of value. It was a brilliant move on the part of the Bills owners to try and gain ground with our market. Unfortunately Toronto just isn't that interested in the NFL.
It was a move by the Bills that doubled the teams revenue.http://www.forbes.com/sites/bradlock...ffalo-bills/2/ Of all the interested buyers for the team, nobody in Toronto wants them. Does that sound like self entitlement to you?

I was afraid this would lead to a Buff vs TO thing. I don't feel like closing the thread, theskyiscrape, so please 86 the insulting generalisations. You really wouldn't like it if
they started firing back with stereotyped impressions of Buffalo, so let's be respectful of our neighbours. Thank you.

The same people who look down upon Buffalo look down upon Hamilton. I don't have any negative feelings towards either. I actually like Hamilton a great deal. Regarding the Bills, how about when you start cheering for the Ti-Cats, we'll start cheering for the Bills?

Sour attitude goes both ways across the border; not just from Canada to the USA. That will never change. Anyone who is unaware of that should simply check into the North American skybar once in awhile for a wake-up call. We just have to keep it out of these threads, that's all.

Actually, one of the reasons that most Bills games are sold out is because 25% - 40% of the people who go to watch the games live are from Toronto and the greater south-western Ontario area. There are so many Canadians going to Bills games that they annually have Canadian fan appreciation days.

That does not make them automatically Bills fans. It's just the closest place to go watch an NFL game.

The preseason game this August has been cancelled due to an alleged "scheduling conflict." I know for a fact that is complete BS, and the Rogers event production department wanted to get rid of the game and bring in something much bigger since the Bills preseason games are terrible for profit.

I dont know why the bills are staying in Buffalo. The city is dying. Check Wikipedia and see that the population shrank since the 60s. Its almost resembles towns that are along Lake Ontario-Thousand Islands-St. Laurent River.... they had a boom (Brockville, Cornwall) and now they are dying slowly with not many opportunities and little growth.
I wouldnt say that all football fans are Bills fans in S. Ontario. People from the GTA should remember that Sarnia/Windsor area enjoys the comfort of having Detroit across the border and a great NFL franchise like the lions. But again, I think you can find many fans who follow other teams in Windsor/Sarnia area. Heck, they even got a better hockey team than what Buffalo and Toronto have combined.... |

ive bought Argos season tix just to spite the overhyped goofy NFL nonsense. Don't matter, the NFL in Toronto has been a collosal bust. Nobody wants it if even 1 tax dollar is going to be wasted on an NFL team.

I just hope we can get back to the business of building up the football team and football league we already have instead of this destructive diversion with the Bills. We're about to play host to the our nation's 100th football championship game in November. That's where our energies need to be focused.

Five more years - Toronto Sun article:
Bills Will Be Back Five More Years Deal will result in 'significantly' cheaper ticket prices By John Kryk ,QMI Agency Tuesday, May 22, 2012 02:54 PM EDT Toronto will continue to play host to one regular-season Buffalo Bills game per year through 2017, QMI Agency has learned. And tickets will be "significantly" cheaper, according to a source in the position to know. The NFL's International Committee Tuesday morning in Atlanta approved the Bills' intention to extend its deal with the Rogers Centre, as QMI Agency first reported. While a final agreement has not yet been reached between the Bills and Rogers Media, the source said the term will be for five years, the two sides are "very close," and "you can probably expect an announcement in the coming weeks." From 2013-17, then, the Bills will continue to play one of their eight annual regular-season home games at Toronto's downtown domed stadium. Probably only one pre-season game will be part of the new contract, the source said... ...The Toronto series has been a cash bonanza for the Bills. Not so much for Rogers. Regardless of how many tickets Rogers sells, or how much they charge for those tickets, the Bills' haul from each of the seven Toronto games works out to $11.14 million -- more than double what the team clears from each home game at Ralph Wilson Stadium, according to the Buffalo News. What's more, Bills season-ticket purchases by Ontarians had risen 44% after three years of the Bills-in-Toronto Series, Brandon told fans at a function last year, according to the News. And Canadians account for 15% of the club's overall season-ticket sales -- about 10,000 fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium on any given Sunday. By any measure, the Bills-in-Toronto series got off to an atrocious start in 2008. Ticket prices averaged $183, compared to $51 for Bills home games at the Ralph... There won't be an NFL Team in Toronto until a proper Football stadium is build.I am hoping that in 2017, the International Olympic Committe announces Toronto as the host for the 2024 games and that will force them to build a stadium. Also, Ralph Wilson would have passed away by then, forcing the team to relocate to Toronto. I am hoping by the start of 2018, Toronto will have an NFL Team. Initially playing in the Skydome but eventually moving to the new Stadium they will build for the Olympics.
