Hotel Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan's First Skyscraper
The skyscraper Kazakhstan hotel is architectural attraction both for the city and for the country. This 25-floor construction is the highest building built on the territory of the former USSR in seismic areas. Convenient location allows enjoy beauty of the city and Zaili Alatau directly from the window. Sky-rocketing to more than hundred meters, the hotel creates unique architectural ensemble, that adds the unique view to Almaty city.
New unique technologies were used during construction of the hotel that are remained innovative till present day. With sky-rocketing construction of the city, emergence of new constructions, the “Kazakhstan” hotel remains the example of high art style and original architectural solution highly admired among guests of the city. The “Kazakhstan” hotel become the business card of Almaty city long ago. Моя тетя рассказывала о стройке этого шедевра. Они в детстве ходили на котлован чтобы прыгать по баллонам от БелАЗов. Рядом проходит речка и поэтому в земле есть пустоты, чтобы их заполнить использовали эти самые покрышки разных размеров.

It's THE landmark worth preserving, especially if one takes in account huge carbon footprints all those shiny new skyscrapers have! The fact that they used polished aluminium plates and wooden panels to decorate the facade is almost unheard of by today's standards.
