Eskisehir [Turkey]

Eskisehir is located in Central Anatolia and is one my favourite cities in Turkey so let me introduce you this cute city. Eskisehir's population is about 500.000 and this city is well known for its students (2 big universities) nightlife, for its industry such as the F-16 factory, highspeed train factory, BEKO (Turkey's biggest domestic appliance manufacturer, new owner of many european brands such as Grundig, Leisure, Brandt, Thomson, Blomberg etc..) and Sarar (www.sarar.com) which belongs to Turkey's top designer clothes.

Before entering the city from the east:

Eskisehir is also the first city in Turkey which is connected to the highspeed line. (Ankara-Istanbul highspeed line via Eskisehir)

As I said before Eskisehir is well known for its youth. Turkey's average age is quite young but Eskisehir's is even younger

Nearly 1/5 of cities population consists of university students. And if you add highschool students and others it's like half of the city

A very lovely city! I imagine these are someone else's pictures as they seem to come from websites, but would people making new threads kindly acknowledge at the beginning if the pictures are taken by themselves, or another photographer! Thank you!

^I would assume they are Turkish considering not many tourists probably go to Eskishehir.

What a beautiful city btw. I'm sure more people will know about this place in near future, because it seems to offer everything even for a small city.

What is the most convenient/easiest way to get to this city from Istanbul? I'm really interested in visiting.

Isn' there a separated section for own photos called "Urban Showcase" ? http://www.skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1088
I think it is quite obvious that these are not mine since there are URL's on them. Or do we have to say everytime we post pictures if they are ours or not? Is that somethnig new?

Yes there is another forum for self taken photos, and no, not everyone is using it yet. In case you missed it, I said: "I imagine these are someone else's pictures as they seem to come from websites", but a url on its own means nothing. You might be the photographer that took the original photos. It doesn't matter who took them, we just need people to say whether they are their own or whether they are someone else's. Thank you.

Very cute town, next month fast train service between Ankara - Eskisehir will start, going to this town will be less then hour from Ankara.
