Isn't it spelled "Sidney" though? Anyways, it amalgamated with Dartmouth right?

First time I've seen pictures of Paris, Ontario. Seems like a great Ontario town.

No, it's spelled 'Sydney' and it's on Cape Breton Island. Darmouth is across the harbour from Halifax and part of metro Halifax. I believe there's a tiny speck of a town on the west coast called 'Sidney'. Maybe you're mixing those up.

Paris, Ontario reminds me a little bit of Fergus, Ontario. Both are old established Ontario towns with rivers running through the middle of them. Both feature an apron of buildings backing on to the river.

I started my first photo thread documenting a recent trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Have a peek: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=724898

looks rather bad and neglected, plus the winter atmosphere doesn't help

Paris looks like a cute little town! It appears to have seen better days, but it definitely doesn't look "dodgy" or crime-ridden. Just a little sleepy and needs a fresh coat of paint or a bit of refurbishing on some of the buildings, is all. Very idyllic with nice surroundings.

To those who say it looks like Eastern Europe, I very much disagree. I think it looks like a quintessential Victorian-era town like what you'd find across most of Canada or the Midwestern and Northeastern US.
