Ruru, I just wanted to know if you're aware of something about the buildings in your country, are there any buildings currently building? if so, how many towers have been building, what floors? over 10 stories more? Hope that they have any more of over 10 floors of developments.

Well, in Haiti people has this bad attitude not to share infos about any projects, you just walk up or down the street and you see a new construction but with no informations regarding it. And about the buildings, there are building codes in Haiti due to Hurricane and earthquakes problems in the past, most people don't know that, that's why you are going to see big constructions take lots of space instead of being raised in the air which is bad for a population in expansion like the port-au-prince's. The tallest building in port-au-prince actually is TELECO and it's only 7 floors. If i'm not wrong they were trying to build one taller than that but the gouvernment stopped it. Nevertheless I think sometimes laws are made to be broken, because DIGICEL is building a tour right now next to the TELECO's, they are up to 10 floors now and I think they are still raising up. I hope that the state changes its mind about the building codes so that people can start building skyscraper in Port-au-Prince.

Thx Ruru. The 1st pic is the new Digicel tower that's being constructed in Turgeau P-au-P. Its suposedly going to be taller than Teleco. The middle pics are of the store that has just been opened. Digicel vacated their former building on the bottom to another group or company that will soon take over.

I don't think the building on the bottom was Digicel's, wasn't it rented from the Hexagone club or something? and by the way how come you know those informations? You're Jamaican or Haitian just like me, maybe Dominican working there for Digicel as we have lots of them working in telecommunications here in Haiti?
