Storforsen, Norrbotten.
Storforsen, 40 kilometres north-west of Älvsbyn is the largest free-flowing rapids in northern Europe with a drop of over 82 metres. During the last 2 kilometres it drops 60 metres containing the most powerful rapids.

Yes we import some oil for energy production, mostly from Russia, Norway and Denmark since we have no own production of oil.

When it comes to electricity, around 50% is generated through Nuclear power and around 40% comes from hydro power. The rest comes from wind power, biofuels etc. So, we normaly don't use oil for electricity production.

No, I don't think the picture is taken at a special day, since most of the flags are pennants which are mostly used when there's no special flag day like the King's birthday, the National day etc.

But it should also be said that it's not that very common that people have flagpoles outside their detached houses. It's more common that people have it at their weekend cottages. But this place, Brändaholm is special since almost all cottages have a flagpole.

Höga Kusten/The High Coast, Ångermanland
Höga Kusten (the High Coast) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is situated along the eastern side of middle Sweden, at the Bothnian Sea. What makes this area unique is the so called isostatic land uplift. During the Ice age the land was pressed down under the heavy weight of the ice. After the ice had melted the land started to raise again, something that is still going on, although at a decreasing rate. This is taking place all over Sweden but the maximum extent of the uplift is found at the High Coast. Actually, all land up to 286 m above the present sea level was once under water. What has risen from the sea is a very scenic landscape with a rugged topography.

The picture is taken from Skuleberget. The top of Skuleberget is 294 metres above sea level, and the highest prehistoric coastline is 286 metres above sea level. This is the world's highest prehistoric coastline. There's also a very cool cave on the steepest side of the mountain. It is said to have been a retreat for the Skule robbers, who existed in this region.

Kungsklyftan (Kings Cleft), Fjällbacka, Bohuslän.
Right through the massive stone cliff in the middle of Fjällbacka is the Kungsklyftan (the ’King’s Cleft’), a huge opening in the rock, where parts of Astrid Lindgren’s film ”Ronja the Robber’s Daughter” were filmed. It got it's name after the Swedish king Oscar II's visit.

Hehe, yea. But they are stuck there since the last ice age, and that was like 10 000 years ago so you are safe.

Rökstenen, Östergötland
The Rök Runestone (In Swedish Rökstenen) is one of the most famous rune stones, featuring the longest known runic inscription in stone. It is placed by the church in Rök, and considered the first piece of written Swedish literature and thus marks the beginning of the history of Swedish literature.
