Anybody interested in Canada? Because...

Because I would really like to know more about Australia. I think it's a great country and I would like to visit it sometime. So if anybody would like to know more about Canada then send me a PM and we can exchange some information on MSN!

I'd give both of my testicles NOT to live there. Freezing cold temperatures are not for me.

well, i think that's an exaggeration. if you live in vancouver or victoria, you most certainly will not be subjected to "freezing cold temperatures". central and northern canada are the only two places you will face those temps. and let's not forget, we do have a summer.

Canada is f@cking freezing believe me! One tiny corner of the whole country may be exempt, but 95% of the place is very cold for a very, very long time. Apart from that, it is a nice place.

Remember that you are talking to Australians. We thing anything less than 15c is cold.

Hot, cold...it's all relative. As far as I'm concerned any temperature below 10 degrees celcius is out my comfort zone.

I have never been to Canada but my wife and I are talking of doing a stint over there once uni is over for the both of us. We would need to check equivalent qualifications and such as my wife will be a psychologist.

I would love to live there for 2-3 years. Many of our friends have done the whole London thing but would like either Canada or Austria for something different.

Ah yes, but you are opinionated, though, are you not? Perhaps the testicles were given up years ago over another dramatic moment! !

Truth is, you get used to the cold winters. There is a certain.... ermm...perhaps perverse enjoyment in four very distinct seasons. Each one has its own beauty. My b/f is from the Amazon and ADORES snow and cold weather. To a great degree, it is a state of mind. You dress warmly so that you don't actually feel the cold when you go outdoors. The air is fresh, crisp and clean. You have to admit that throwing another shrimp on the barbie on Christmas Day pales in comparison to a (hypothetical) sleigh ride in the fresh white snow while the turkey is roasting in the oven!
Canada and Australia are not really that different. Scratch the surface and we are all cousins underneath. Danged Australia just got the better climate, that's all!

(we got the beavers and the maple syrup!! hehe)

When I was a kid I would wish for it would snow at Christmas, but I quite like the Christmas period falling in the middle of summer now. It's a much more pleasurable time to spend with family and friends, with the longer daylight hours and sunny conditions, and allows for a greater variety of food and drinks to be served. I think most people do a roast in Australia, while also having some sort of seafood. Not everyone throws a "shrimp" on the barbie though!

Ugh, did not like the cold today. We are not the artic though, at least not in Toronto. 6 months is coldand coldish and 6 months are cool, warm and hot. But yes, Assies and Canucks aren't all that different, but of course we do have our differences, for example our second language.

BTW, I wish I will one day live in Australia.

PS: Is there any city in Ozland with a big Latin American community?

Have nothing against Canada, nice place for a visit but my comment still stands. If I were spend any significant amount of time in Canada my balls will eventually be frozen off anyway. I'm just not cut out for the cold temperatures, my body craves for warmth.
