Just a suggestion, but the summary should be in height order, and with clearer headings IMO... (I nearly missed that 145m tower in there). It looks really messy at the moment, no offence.

It is a bit hard to read if you dont already know the projects. Hope at least a few of them come up. Croydon is my home for the next few years

A little know fact about Alsop is that he is one of the few architects to be blind. In some small way this does come through in his designs, which look more like... crap? Can't really say they look like anything!

There are some hefty proposals there...

Why is Croydon so attractive to developers? Land prices, free for all development policy?

well if you look at a map of central croydon you can see why its so popular. its like an american CBD complete with huge carparks and unbuilt plots in and around the city centre. its easily developable compared to other parts of london.

Eg reports Achilleas kallakis is planning a 3 tower development by Hamiltons including a 59 storey residential tower on the site of Lunar house (governments immigration building on Wessley road)in Croydon. This site is next door to the Berkeley 44 storey resi tower & across the road from the proposed Whitgift redevelopment.

Sticking point is the government leases don't run out for a good few years yet so they would have to renegotiate the leases to get them out sooner.

As always with Croydon, exciting plans but will they ever come to fruition.

59 floor resi tower? This isn't the same one we heard about a couple of months ago is it? If not, then I'm very suprised, if these things get built Croydon could have a better skyline than any of the regional cities.

Nope its for a different site. Theres a pic in EG if anybody can take a sly pic next time their waiting for there train in WH Smith

It looks like early concept drawing but 3 towers triangular in footprintwith curved edges (slightly similar to Fosters Commezrbank tower) with open space at ground level with the middle tower being the tallest.

God almighty... So they are possibly getting a 35 floor tower, a 44 floor tower, a 52 floor tower, a 59 floor tower, and another 60-ish floor tower? As well as numerous smaller ones too!

I bet most people never thought they would hear this, but Croydon could end up being quite stunning

fantastic 'scrapers... they are as good as anything here in Guangzhou China.

Croydon really could be number 3 spot fro 'scrapers in the UK (move over Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds).

EDIT: What is that tower to the left of the scheme, the one that looks like it has a spire at the top left hand corner of it? That isn't the approved Rolfe Judd Tower is it?

I just checked using skyscraper news, and that does look to be the Rolfe Judd tower. It has to be out of scale?! Wouldn't that make this new one about 250m?

Yeah it must be the Rolfe Judd tower. The two plots are adjacent. The RJ is around 140m so it must be out of scale.
