In Russian there are 2 different "e" letters. The one that looks like the English "e" is pronounced "ye" while the other one which looks like an inverted "e" is pronounched "e" so "yekaterinburg" I guess is more correct.

I founded information from Wikipedia: "Yekaterinburg (Russian: Екатеринбу́рг, also romanized Ekaterinburg, formerly Sverdlovsk)". So both forms are correct in English. I learned Russian language during two years and I know about its specific "e" but do not know that it could influence of English name of city. By the way thanks for answer.

Construction of key object Ekaterinburg-city - Iset tower - it's suspended for 3 months. The Sverdlovsk arbitration court has satisfied last claim Rostechnadzor, insisting on illegality of construction because of absence at Ekaterinburg-city (affiliated company UGMK) of allowing documents

Cool. Russian cities have always had the worst skylines relative their population but this is changing. I hope Russia will become a new global partner with the west in the future instead of being the harmless rebel that it is. Follow China's lead! Integration is the key!
