Great pictures. How did you like that Anonymous rally at the Scientology building?

Top notch pics as usual, King.

It's amazing how you can look down one street and see a amazingly diverse group of people, and you look down another street and see yet another group of people that differed from the first group of people you looked at. If L.A. County isn't diverse, then I don't know what is. All creeds and kinds living under the Californian sun... it's wonderful.

And I can see that the 4channers are still attacking Scientology.

^ Haha you are totally obsessed with city-data./ Let it go man, you don't have to proove nada. That is a cool picturee with the trees though, the way they create this canopy./ Reminds me of the literary walk in Central park just with a paved road and cars./ You have a great eye King./ You should cover all neighborhoods of LA and collaborate with me.

I'll get around to doing as many neighborhoods as I can, right now the number of neighborhoods accessible by me is limited seeing how I don't have a car (getting one this fall.

I'd love to collaborate, but don't you live in NYC?

She compiled the most extensive photographic record of her entire area. She photographed every little thing. She broke cameras, wore out shoes and is probably on the FBI's one to watch list for 2008! Now if you went around all the various neighborhoods of The Los Angeles area and photographed them, not only would you be gone for years or get shot- BUT YOUR SCHOOLWORK WOULD SUFFER!! You're too young, man. You have your whole life ahead of you

Wonderful photos -- the kind that don't get posted about SoCal much of the time but are familiar to those of us who've lived here many years.

Only one quibble -- "flithy-rich Glendale"? I'm a Glendale transplant from West Hollywood-adjacent, Long Beach, and South Bay (earlier, points east nationally and internationally). For me, Glendale is an overpriced '10s-'40s subdivision with "Mildred-Pierce" pseudo-"Spanish colonials" and other trashy stucco-ed pseudo-isms mixed with bargain-basement New Urbanist megaprojects (the Americana) mixed with low-end bungalow crap (more proto-Levittown-without-a-clue than Craftsman or historical revival). And forget Art Deco: the only noteworthy example is the piddly little Alex Theatre; towns of 50K or much less in the Midwest do better architecturally. Of course, there's no infrastructure befitting a location in a metro area larger than most U.S. states, including New York. At least L.A. and Long Beach have started to move toward being what they should be, however haltingly.

So a few streets still have a few 1940's-ish tree canopies. Doesn't do much for the air quality. And the houses and apartments or condos aren't even close to what you'd find in the finer areas of much-maligned Detroit. Every day, I think, my overpriced Glendale townhouse in parts of S.E. Michigan or smaller depressed parts of the Midwest would be an investor's bargain -- or torched. Yet here people tell me how lucky I am to live in this piece of overpriced California crap.
