The Netherlands is experiencing the coldest spring in 50 years, the maximum temperatures today were 10 - 12 degrees below normal. Temperatures have been substantially below normal since March except for two short periods of warmer weather.

Right now it's even snowing in eastern Belgium! Two weather stations in the Netherlands also recorded wet snow this morning. The normal maximum temperature for late May is +18 C.

Weather is awful. It's cold, it rains a lot and the middle of May was the least sunny in decades, just 22 hours of sunshine in 10 days (normal value is 69 hours).

The Keukenhof, the annual flower garden near Leiden, closed this Monday. Usually the last 2 weeks are drab, not many flowers still there, but this year the blossoming was several weeks late and the garden was at its peak at closing time.

Last year we had a heatwave around this time. Last year this exact day was the first day that year with 30 degrees Celsius and more.
Last actual summer? I have no idea. The summer is more and more just rain. At least the last 5 years I've had rain on my birthday...
*sigh*

Has anyone got to try out the new Google Maps yet? If so, what do you think about it?

I personally think that the new, bigger map window is defnitely better, it's also a lot smoother.
Things I'm not too sure about: the concept of a personalised map in general and the new map design - the colours are a bit too saturated, IMO.

There was some snow even in Jesenice (576 m). Ljubljana: 7°C.

That's not a sign, that's a road map.

Last week there was snow in Jaca (Same altitude as Kranjska Gora, but 4 degrees closer to equator). Now that is something unusual

Do you know if the Pyrenees road passes are opened or closed due to late snow?
