That's childish! A village is bilingual, so accept bilingual signs, we're in Europe and get along with that.

As I said, unprecedented in Europe. And the town has 30% Slovenes! (f.e. Koper/Capodistria has 2% Italians) I'm sorry to say that, but since Haider died things are going much better in Carinthia.

@Road_Uk.

I posted the article below some time ago in this thread, but I see there is good time to do the same again:

Quote:
"Get the boat and don't come back

"There is no black in the Union Jack
Quote:
This weekend 110 Romanians, including many small children, some as young as six weeks, are under armed police guard at a secret location in Belfast. Seven days ago the 20 families were driven out of several properties on the edge of the city's university district, victims of a racist gang which repeatedly attacked their homes over a number of days. Many of the immigrants, almost all exclusively from the Roma community, have said they want to return home rather than stay in a city being branded as the racist capital of Europe.

And this what I posted in the thread dedicated to beggars:

Here are the words of a Polish Roma Community head, Roman Chojnacki. The quote comes just after his visit to World Romani Congress in Romania, Sbiu, April 2013.

Quote:
Quote:
Rough translation:

Practically, if the Roma people (means those from Romania) had a will to use funds offered to to them, they would never had to emigrated to Poland (yes, they come to Poland and do not even integrate with Polish Gypsies). Then, no European (mind, he did not say Western European) country would have have any issues related to Romani people. However, either, EU funds are no spent well or nobody is able to use them properly. There are funds and possibilities in Romania but no wish shown (probably means Roma community) to gain the funds.

Everyone else would be fired in a few days, but not parliamentarians, they are untouchable.

Please, do not confuse nationalism with bad experience with Roma people. Nationalism is something wrong based on some past failures and obviously has nothing to do with sense (e.g. Slovaks against Hungarians, Hungarians against Slovaks). I totally blame Slovaks who hate Hungarians without meeting anyone in life and just because Hungarians are Hungarians. The same goes viceversa.

In Roma issue nobody doesn't like Roma people because they are Roma people, but because of bad (exact or reproduced) experience with them. The fact is, they have pretty much different family background and therefore, it is really hard to integrate them.

Sometimes I get a feeling all those project related to integration, discrimination, etc. of Roma people are primary designed for non-goverment organizations to get more and more money.

"There is a segregation in primary school!" - maybe they are right, then do something with that. Build a special school for Roma people with well-payed teachers. Everyone see, there is a segregation. We do not need such organization. But if I was the parent, I would choose exactly that school for my children with minimum number of bullying pupils. My experience has shown, that majority of Roma pupils are inadaptable and bullying either puplils or teachers. I would avoid school with Roma pupils. Now you can call me racist.

"The residents of that appartment house has build a wall to separate from Roma people" - How dare have they built up a wall separating their own property! It is pure racism. Thus everyone who encloses her/his property is racist.

Actually, I don't hate Roma people. I hate those organizations and their supporters which parasitize on Roma problems latently doing a dezintegration of them in society and constantly blaming other groups for doing nothing.

Yesterday Berlusconi was finally convicted (7 years prison + banned from public roles forever) for exploitation of underage prostitution (the infamous Ruby affair).
Unfortunately, it's not a definitive sentence.

I met a Slovak guy here, he really hates Hungarians and was glad Hungary is not doing that well. Of course he is not from a region with many Hungarians, but from Zilina.

The same situation in Romania regarding Hungarians...

This is quite typical. Hungarians in Slovakia are normal common people, often well educated tax payers. Sometimes (especially older) have problems with understanding of Slovak language, but I think it is their bussines.

The situation is much better among young Slovaks and Hungarians where there is almost no mutual problems. Really small majority of Hungarians in Slovakia refuse to learn Slovak language without realising the additional value on labor market (we have Schengen area, thus Hungarians from Slovakia could apply for a job in Slovakia as well in Hungary). That is something I really envy them.

I agree. Many Romanians (especially those living around Bucharest) think that there is a "war" between Romanians and Hungarians living in Transilvania. In towns where live both nations is really something like this:

Last line (dialog):
Hungary ball (in Romanian): Hello. Do you want to drink a hungarian palinka with me? (strong alcoholic drink)
Romania ball (in Hungarian): Yes.

Wait, so Polish Roma are more civilized than Romanian Roma?
