That means you'll have to behave (no more running around naked).

I'm in my parents' town, in central Italy. Since yesterday when I arrived, I already felt 3 earthquakes of growing intensity (2.5, 2.7, 3.0). Epicenter is located 6 km away.

Me scared.

A Volkswagen Transporter was pulled over for a check on Autobahn A44 near Kassel. It was loaded with 24 people (it has seats for 9).

Damn, they broke the record we did at a summer camp when I was a teen.
We were only 21 in a such van.
But only for 2 km on a small road.

they were looking for jobs

Maximum for me was 9 persons in a taxi (normal PKW) in a Romanian winter resort.
We started with 7, then picked two more on the road, a young couple.
And we had to reorganize because the girl didn't want to sit on the lap of one of us

Could Westerns drive their own cars in Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary before 1989?

My father drove to Romania in 1977 and to Czechoslovakia in 1985 (where he was asked to pay a bribe). Other persons I know went to Poland. Yes, it was definitively possible, but you had to ask for a visa well in advance.
