It has really very precise gearbox.
what year is your Focus? i have 2008 mk2.5 Focus for 10 days and i am not that happy with gearbox.. it is not that bad as in Opel or Peugeot, also better than Renault, but my Italian piece of crap had miles better gearbox (as all Italian cars actually do). in Punto it has never been stucked between the gears. in Focus when I'm lazy and relax my arm in armrest, it may stuck between 2nd and 3rd gear.

Don't worry, I had no feeling about it either when I was younger. But you're right, the Slovenian language doesn't know that, we can only say "some European" or "this/that European".

I have it, but I can't see that either. It's not such a big deal though, except maybe if I wake up someone with that loud acceleration.

My friend has recently* bought a Toyota Yaris Hybrid. It's automatic of course. He told me he never thought of buying an automatic car but he wanted to buy a hybrid one - which means buying an automatic.

* I've just realized it was more than one year ago...

As soon as we all start using electric cars, manual transmissions will become a thing of the past.

Why is that?
I mean why does a hybrid have to be automatic?

I have seen an electronic car with manual transmission too. The owner was complaining that he have to always watch the RPMs since he cannot hear whether he have to shift up or down.

Electric car and manual transmission? It doesn't have any sense.

Toyota hybrids change the engine automatically. I mean, the car is powered by gasoline and then you brake and drive slower then it changes to electric engine and shuts the gasoline engine completely down. If the battery is empty, it changes automatically back to gasoline.
If you halt (e.g. at red light), both engines are shut down. Then when you start, the electric engine powers the car, over a certain speed petrol based engine will automatically started, and it will power the car.
It is only possible if transmission, too, is controlled electronically since the two different kind of engine need different transmissions.

It was my first thought, too, in my friend's hybrid car. Just like a trolleybus. Acceleration, sound, feeling, all; only car sizes are very different :-)
