Yes. However, in Hungarian language the name of this house has nothing to do with orange (it's called house of "Orania", or perhaps "Orany" is a more proper English transliteration) so normally you'll never know the connection of this color and the royal dinasty, unless you study specifically Dutch and English history.
I don't know, perhaps in x-type's language which may be Croatian, the situation is similar.

In Italian the House of Orange is called "Casa d'Orange", pronounciated French-style. The fruit in Italian is called "arancia" and the colour "arancione", so there is no immediate connection with the Dutch ruling house, either.

Same happens in Spanish, the Dutch ruling house is "Casa de Orange" while both the fruit and the colo(u)r are called "naranja".

AN ANNOUNCEMENT:

Any Romanian, Dane, Spaniard or Pole (all but one of those examples is intentionally random) who questions the legitimacy of my claim to be a speaker of my own language and expects me not to take it personally is being unspeakably insulting and arrogant. While only one person in yesterday’s exchanges in International Border Crossings went that far (and he knows it, and he’s now the lone inhabitant of my Ignore List), the discussion was getting there, it’s not the first time (if memory serves) he’s done it and it’s far from the first time it’s happened, on this forum or elsewhere. If I had a dime* for every time a Dutch or French person (they’re often Dutch, for some reason) told me directly “WE study the real English; you don’t speak it” or asked me to Briticize my vocabulary so that I could be understood….

Nearly 24 hours later, I find I’m still angry about this. And I believe I have every right to be. But it’s off topic to that thread and unfair to people who just visit it to look at pictures of border crossings. And, most important to me, I don’t have the time or emotional energy to be angry about something that, in the big scheme of things, is so profoundly insignificant as Romanians’ or anyone else’s opinion of my command of my own language.

Therefore, I am staying off of this thread, and International Border Crossings, for at least one week. If anyone posts anything really interesting in that time, well, I’m sorry I’ll miss it. Hopefully a week from now we’ll be back to complaining about the weather, sharing silly videos and looking at pictures of border crossings. This is just for the record, to head off any speculations that I’ve gone away permanently again or am sulking.

* “dime” – American and Canadian for 10-cent coin. I realize that some people think that makes it un-English, but it’s an established expression. Deal with it.

I hope he won't. He would not have any chance in the way down on the other side of the pass.

I've updated my Balkan roadtrip planned for late May:

Map - http://goo.gl/pa04qA

Day 1: Ingolstadt - Trogir
Day 2: Trogir/Split
Day 3: Trogir - Mostar, Dubrovnik
Day 4: Dubrovnik
Day 5: Dubrovnik - Kotor, Cetinje, Budva
Day 6: Budva - Shkodër, Tirana
Day 7: Tirana - St. Naum, Ohrid
Day 8: Ohrid - St. John the Forerunner Bigorski Monastery, Tetovo, Matka Dam, Skopje
Day 9: Skopje
Day 10: Skopje (, maybe quick stop in Nis) - Timisoara

---

I hope there will be no problems with unrest in Bosnia.
If everything goes well and the weather will be nice, I think it will be an epic trip
