Okay, update on that score check: ABC's gone to local news, ESPN's talking about baseball and ESPN2 has Calgary beating Montreal in the fricking CFL. (Those are the three channels that have been showing the Cup.) Surprised to see football of the North American variety in June....

Yes it was. And the cultural heritage of that kingdom is still left in those areas.

Deciding games on penalty kicks is stupid.

If you look at the statistics, Greece had many more chances to score than Costa Rica. Luck was not on our side. We made many more final attempts to score but we only scored once, within 120 minutes! The goal-keeper of Costa Rica was a real hero!

Costa Rica knocked us out but that's really as far as they can go. They will definitely lose the next game.

Yes. However no one has had any better idea. It is not ice hockey where you can play until one team scores (although I saw even a hockey game of 70 minutes extra time because no one scored), if you play more, the players will be more and more tired and the game will have lower and lower quality.
Last night Costa Rica played with one man less and Greece did not manage to score in the extra time, 2×15 minutes. So what to do then?

So, dear Italians, explain to me:
How is it possible that it is not possible to get warm meal about 3 hours in the afternoon even in very tourist places like Dolomites?
I was almost shocked that it was not possible to get something to eat (except some sandwiches) on Tre Cime between 2:30 and 6 PM - when you make a pretty long and physically demanding bicycle ride just to find out that in rifugio (actually more like hotel) they still have 19th century restaurant timetables despite loads of tourists with buses, cars, motors and bicycles arriving every minute. Of course souvenir stand was operating without interruption.

And not only that on Saturday it was impossible to find even ONE restaurant or pizzeria that would serve warm meals outside those fixed timeframes in 100 km circle. Not only in small villages (which would be reasonable) but also in larger and really tourist towns. I find that really awkward in 21st century.

You really should import more people from Balkans as they will at least teach you that people could be hungry even outside of those ridiculously fixed timeframes for colazione, pranzo and cena.

Dolomites are subjected to German-world meal timeframes. Go find a restaurant open after 3 in Munich

We already have lots of them. They didn't succeed.

My, you feel quite strongly about this!

There are plenty of restaurants even in the US that close for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner. (And plenty that don't.)

It's difficult to get a hot meal in France at motorway services between lunch and dinner. Only Autogrill keep their kitchens open..

Please send them to Hungary! Our country seriously lacks South Slavic grill bars. Heck we have döner/gyros buffets at every tram stop* while it takes a lifetime to find a place that serves pjsekavica burgers

*not kidding, there is actually an unwritten law among the Middle Eastern immigrants that each family can open one buffet at every stop of tram line 4/6 but not closer to each other

I agree. There aren't many other possibilities to end a game with so few goals like soccer. Overtime is applied but often inconclusive. Sudden death isn't an option, unless for "sudden death" you mean actual death of one of the players...
