I once found a mobile phone on a ski slope, I called a random number and traced back the owner and gave him. Picking money from the floor, on the other hand, it's fine, since it has no name. The maximum I found was 20 euro in a parking lot.

A while back, living in the Bay Area, I was waiting at a Walmat's checkout register for my turn when I looked around bored as heck and noticed a lady in the oposite register looking my way; she looked me in the eyes and quickly looked down to the floor where I was standing: that made me look down and what do you know! a $50.00 bill was just there to be had!! I picked it up and never looked back to see that lady!! Thought of giving it to the clerk at the register, but would've ended in the big W's coffers.

cheers

Well, I have got nothing to do with Germans (my mum has slovak and slovenian roots and my dad is pure hungarian), but i completely appreciate their sense for fidelity and tidyness. Therefore i like clear lines and edges.

She was born in Bratislava, but her dad and his family came from Slovenia, but I don't know exactly where from. That part of family is already dead. Her maiden name is Marinić. So I guess, it has something to do with dock ("Marina").

Marinič is Slovenian surname, but also Croatian (Marinić). i don't know for Slovenians, but our Marinić people have mostly the roots around city Otočac

Err, he didn't have any children either... (ok, you could still be related to him though)

I meant his ancestors (like brothers, uncles, etc.) But who knows? Perhaps she was the one unable to have children and he had not resisted the temptation and had some. But they probably would not have been bearers of his surname.
