After I posted the other day I found something to that effect on either the BBC or the Guardian site (I forget which). But the idea was that they wouldn't start counting until the polls closed and the most populated areas would, logically, take longest. So I'm wondering why you mention Scottish Borders...I was wondering earlier whether there are geographical variations in sympathy...areas where the yes or the no is significantly different from Scotland as a whole. So that if I'm watching BBC World News - which has promised live coverage - this evening (my time) and I hear that, say, Kincardineshire voted a certain way.... (I do enjoy a good election night, even if it's one that doesn't concern me.)
I'm not sure if you can get Sky News coverage over there but the following link will give you an overview of what's what.

http://news.sky.com/story/1337779/sc...as-they-unfold

As for significantly different areas the only one I've heard about is Dundee which is something like 80% in favour of the Yes vote.

Living near Scotland (70 miles away) there are a lot of Scottish I know who live & work in England and although they can't vote they are overwhelmingly No voters. They're not happy to say the least especially when other nationalities living in Scotland can. I also have a few business contacts in the Scottish central belt (mainly in Edinburgh) and they are all No voters too.

It will be close but I expect a No vote. Although, to be honest, there'll be a few parties in England if they vote Yes.

I have a question regarding the Clinched Motorway System.
Has it updated your stats in the last time? It seems it didn't read any of my updates since 31st August...

We can't complain about the nice late-summer weather we have in the Netherlands. Most areas haven't got any rain in September so far, and temperatures are significantly higher than normal. However, it was preceded by a cool August. Yesterday was the first day since 4 August that 'De Bilt' (the main weather station in the Netherlands) got over 25 degrees.

I would have loved to have seen a independent nation, but I think that would not be the best (socio)-economically.

I notice some joking about Dutch defence spending on the NL highway thread. What's the story here?

It depends on the future leaders particularly. We went through it, and did not have luck. But it finally end up better.

What I am really worried about is the new separatism trend. It could be very sensitive and end up in crumbling of EU.

separatism within eu actually makes sense. Eu is union of countries, doesnt really matter how big or what these countries are, as long as they share common european values.

According to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) the average net wage was 153 939 HUF in the first half of 2014 which is ~500 EUR.

There are two things to note. These statistics don't take the family tax allowances into account which are more beneficial in terms of percentages than the EU average.

For example if your gross wage is 250000 HUF and you don't have any children, they'll leave 163750 HUF in your pocket. If you have one kid, that makes it 173750, with two children it's 183750 and with three you'll actually get 246250 HUF(!).

Secondly we have a few hundred thousand people employed in the public works programs who are "pulling down" the average.
