I've known her since I was a little kid. I remember my mum bought me a cassette/tape (!) Kylie from 1988. I was 5.

A very warm October day in the Netherlands today. They said it was the warmest 18 October in 93 years.

Same temperatures here. Warmer than this year's summer.

Same here too. In contrast with yesterday when the maximum temperature was 13°C. I don't know when to change my tyres.

They say when the temperatures drop below 7°C in the Netherlands. If you wait too long, everybody wants to change their tires at the same time, leading to long waiting times at the garage.

Winter tires are not mandatory in the Netherlands. I don't have winter tires, I don't need my car to get to work, and everything else is close by so I don't need to drive when it snows. Most of my longer trips are social-recreational in character, and I can plan around snowfall. Last winter did not have any snowfall at all (and hardly any frost either).

In contrast to many Americans, who need their car for everything.

The same here - perhaps it is a statement made by tire manufacturers. And I really hate those lines in garages. Despite making reservation, I always stuck there for almost 1,5 hour. It is not very recommend to drive without winter tires in winter here in Slovakia. The snowfall is very occurs regularly and sometimes (like 2 years ago) it is very very strong. Netherlands is fortunately flat so I understand your opinion. I assume the winters are more moderate (due to vicinity of a sea)

I always put my winter tires on seperate wheel rims, so I just put them on when I feel like, takes... 30 minutes or so

I can't imagine putting winter tyres in a climate like NL though... maybe in Switzerland...

Some people here in Serbia put wheel chains on top of winter tyres.

In Hungary I lived in a hilly area, in winter was literally impossible to drive there without winter tyres. My current car had a set of winter tyres when I bought it so I let them changed when winter comes (and actually I think it is compulsory in Germany).
Where I live (a town of 28,000 inhabitants) I request for an appointment and I usually get one in 4-5 days, but then I need not wait at all and in 15 minutes it's ready (every wheels have its own rims so they only have to be changed).

I recently invested in a full-size spare tire. My car (2011 Hyundai i10) only comes with a repair kit, which I can understand for a city car, but I travel all across Europe and I'd like to be able to change the tire myself at any location. I wouldn't get stranded in the middle of nowhere with a stupid repair kit in for example high in the French Alps or in Norway.

Are we talking about extreme conditions aren't we? Btw. I've been putting the wheel chains on twice and I hated it There is nothing more annoying.
