The most secure one is to close road to traffic ahead and behind the "suspect", than place one of these on the roadway:
It's a commonly used device by police and customs all over Europe and North America. Still, if he's stubborn, he may continue his way (but at reduced speed)*.
The other thing, is to shoot into his tires while close enough of his vehicle, and without surrounding traffic or bystander, in case he loose control of his vehicle - that is valid for both situation.

* Btw., if the "suspect" car has run flat tires, or is filled with sealant, this technique may not work properly .

I have a good friend that owns a Focus, model just before the one I have. I made many kms with him (mostly passenger, but also as a driver), I liked it, so it was one of the reasons why I bought a Ford.

The manufacturer fuel consumption data is usually far too optimistic. It may be achieved when driving 90 km/h with a tailwind and no stops, but not under normal driving circumstances.

At 90 km/h in 6th gear driving constantly the manufacturer's data is correct. Obviously nobody drives like that, so the actual consumption is higher. From what I've seen until now, the real value is around 5,2 - 5,6 L/100 km.

PS: today I saw gas station in Austria that had Diesel for 0,999 Euro/L.

frankly, i have just taken a look on second handed X-types and there are few of them just a year older than my Focus, and maybe 1-2000€ more expensive, so i could have achieved one. but honestly, i don't have such intentions to buy that money eater.

but if one day i would be rich enough to achieve a new car whatever i want, that would probably be Jag or Maserati.

Well, older I am, less fuel I use. In most cases I am better in consumption than car makers' data say , no matter what kind of vehicle I drive.

Yeah, but the problem is that the pursuit happens in the traffic. What about all the other cars that get to the road block.

I mean, the biggest problem the police faces is how to isolate the pursued car from the traffic in order to stop it without causing danger to other cars.

Some morons in a Lamborghini Huracan drove at 336 km/h on the M7 motorway near Sávoly last September.

They somehow survived the crash with relatively minor injuries (the driver only spent a few days in hospital, and it was 8+ days for the passanger).

The video is from the Somogy county PD

The harrow can be deployed quickly, almost automatically, and only when the "suspect" car is passing by. After he passed through, it's rapidly being removed, so for other cars and police interceptors. It doesn't need a "road block", so traffic can move freely.
However, an optimal location must be found, with fewer traffic (preferably no) and none bystanders.

This past Sunday, I'm assuming. That was a nasty day around here (New Jersey and the Philadelphia area...I was at Mom's) and the weather forecasters f--ed up and failed to predict the ice.

Today we crashed with a city bus (me being on the bus). We were turning right here, but we had to wait for pedestrians first. In the mean time some idiot was trying to overtake us by car on the right and when we started driving, the bus driver didn't see it, so we smashed it.

Yep, I noticed what that guy was doing, so I prepared myself for the crash. Luckily there was no one standing in the bus, we were all sitting.
