We're going to get a new cable car lift. The old gondola in Mayrhofen:...

...will be replaced with this one...

I don't know where she got the Dutch coin since she's never been to the Netherlands (I actually don't think she's ever been to Italy either), I guess my mum brought pesetas when she was in Spain in 1970s. As for forints, I guess they are from times when my grandma was selling eggs in Budapest.

They're all common coins, easy to get at flea markets for few cents. Not important numismatic value. The Dutch 1 cent can be mistaken for red eurocents that one gets in change, I got an American cent with Abrahm Lincoln instead of 2 eurocent and 1 dinar from Serbia instead of 10 eurocent.

Maybe not, but I was surprised when she brought them up. They were lying there untouched for a few decades.

I was wondering, what's the attitude of people from the UK, France, the Netherlands, Denmark and the US towards their oversea territories? Do people feel them as part of their country or simply ignore them? Do mass media talk a lot about these remote places or are usually forgotten?

Missing parts of A1 should open in 2015-2016. This is a very important corridor for European traffic, also Macedonia (FYROM) and Greece should complete their missing parts. One day it will be possible to drive to Athens from Western Europe all the way with motorways.

I think people in France are well aware of the overseas departments and territories, and they're certainly not forgotten.

Here in the UK however, I'm not even sure most people are aware that the there are quite a few overseas territories. Everyone knows about Gibraltar and the Falklands but that's it. Take the Cayman Islands, for example, people would probably mostly be aware they're in the Caribbean, but not of their political status

You shouldn't be too concerned about your privacy, since you already posted some photos of yourself.
