Nonante-quatre? I thought it was quatre-vingt-quatorze.

Not on TV of course, but you never heard anyone speaking
I plan to go to China in "dva šestnajst" (2-16)
or:
I started to work in "dva nula sedem" (2-0-7)
It's common everywhere I've been in Slovenia. Informally only of course.

I think that in France, Canada and the former French Africa, it goes soixante, soixante-dix, quatre-vingts and then quatre-vingt-dix.

In Switzerland it goes soixante, septante, huitante, nontante and Belgium and the DRC are the same but with quatre-vingt. But I also think that octante is used somewhere and that there are regional variations.

Exactly (except that "quatre vingt" has some use in Switzerland...I think it's normal in Geneva and I've heard it on RTS news broadcasts). The reason is that a counting-in-twenties fad that hit the French upper crust in the 17th century, and which these are a remnant of, missed Belgium and Switzerland, but the French carried their way of counting to their colonies.

There's a massive power-outage in parts of The Netherlands right now.

Here's a map of train tracks effected, can you guess where the power outage is?

Crete does, as well Lampedusa, but Tarifa is the southernmost place in mainland Europe (i.e. excluding islands).
The little island of Gavdos, south of Crete, is the southernmost place in Europe with islands included (Canaries, Madeira and Cyprus are excluded because they aren't geographically Europeans).

I reallly hate these kind of quasi-state organisations that say what the language is... French has it (two!), German, Swedish... they will pry my eszett from my cold dead hands!

at least good English is still a free and unchained language of the people!

Also excluded are all those French overseas departments, most notably Reunion and French Guiana.

Has anyone an idea, why lots of contemporary music clips take place on deserts with car racings? It is getting more and more boring.
