Yes I do have a tent. It's true that RVs and caravans become more dominant on campsites these days. People want luxury and comfort, while still being outside.

One downside of Spain are the small pitches on campsites. They are often only half of what you would find in much of France or Germany. On the other hand, they are not as overpriced as Italy. I've checked various campsites in the Dolomites and they routinely charge twice as much as a similar campsite in France.

The French do not have anything comparable to the Dolomiti.

Italian campsites are expensive no matter where you go. In France or Germany I generally pay € 9 - 12 per night, 15 - 18 if it is a really nice campsite with a lot of services (i.e. swimming pool, free wifi, top-of-the-line sanitary facilities, landscaping, etc.) In Italy it generally starts at € 20 - 25 per night for campsites in less touristic areas or a more simple facility.

The prices mentioned are for 1 person, 1 car and 1 tent. Nothing fancy.

Prices for a family of four with a caravan generally start around € 50 per night. And then I'm talking about regular campsites, at Lake Garda it can be over € 100 per night for a family of four with a caravan during the high season. To compare, a random 5-star campsite in the Dordogne is 'only' € 40 during the high season.

If we're strict, you should also have driven on all branches of interchanges, f.e. on H3 towards Maribor, but also towards the eastern Ljubljana bypass. And in the other direction towards Kranj and towards the western bypass.

Probably not, but all branches, yes... if we're strict. Even I haven't driven on all our motorways/expressways, if we count all branches.

We should also count all roadside rest areas, either manned or unmanned

I saw that the most recent post was from Volodaaaa, and I expected him to be announcing a boycott of the Tour de France.

Anyhow, I have a question about European roads in general and I'm not sure where to put it:

Is German Autobahn 7 the longest freeway route* in Europe, if we disregard E-numbers? Or would it be something in Spain or Italy? (Just because I've been playing with maps lately....)

*By which I mean the longest numbered route that's a freeway. I guess that's a clear way to say it.
