It's likely that Poland will end shifting the clocks twice in a year in 2018. The time currently used in the summer period will stay permanently, which would effectively mean that we resign from the Daylight Saving Time and shift from the GMT+1 time zone to GMT+2.

Just now it's a project discussed in a parliamentary commission for internal affairs, but all the members of the commission - from all the parties - support it.

I filled my bottle with tap water in Croatia and Albania several times. The chlorine taste didn't go away, afther a while the smell even became bigger. I did drink from mountain springs near the Albanian/Croation border on a long hike and that was really great water. To bad most people living in the cities don't have chlorine free tap water available.

It happens for a dead animal in the water to spread infection into the water if you're in the wild. Or drinking from a village wells.
Chlorine is standard in many countries its nothing strange. My experience is when I go somewhere else I just test the water to see my stomach reaction. If its OK the first day I drink small doses, then I proceed. One time I found very hard water in one place, while in my home the water is very very soft.

Wait, you mean Lublin will no longer be in the same time zone as La Coruña?

1000 liters (1 m³) of tap water cost only € 0.63 excluding tax in the Netherlands.

So for the price of one can of beer you can drink 1000 liters of water

There are two taxes on water, VAT and water tax. It still amounts to only € 1 per 1 m³ including taxes. Last year I consumed 56 m³.

And that's why I shower with tap water and not beer.
But I'm not going to drink it.

But beer in some countries, like Germany (maybe Netherlands too), is often cheaper than bottled water.

So if you decide what you drink, you choose beer rather than bottled water, but then even better is to choose tap water.

Concerning the price of the tap water where I live, it's net price is 2.98 zł where I live, which equals approximately 70 eurocents. For 1 cubic meter. So not much different from the Netherlands. The VAT is 8%, which gives 75 cents.

Lol, my neighbors' cat is butthurt, because they've subsequently bought a dog, and now it's trying to move into my flat and convince me to adopt it.

I have never in my life paid a water bill. I assume someone pays, but in apartments, I've always had it provided free by the landlord. (And before that, in the house I grew up in, it was provided free by Mom and Dad.)

When I had my old house in Montreal the water was included in property tax, but they had added an "extra tax relating to water", it was abour 275 CAD/year.

Now in Ontario I have a water meter and a water bill every month, about 35 CAD/monthly, taking 6 m^3. Its expensive enough I wonder if I should instead bring bottled water for everything and have water disconnected

We 'always' had both, sometimes more than one of each. They were friends, so I thought that talking about them as greatest enemies is a bullshit. Till now. The current cat behaves like that the current dog does nothing more that trying to end his life.

In a hotel bar in Germany:
Tea (a nice big glass with peppermint leaves and a cookie by it's side) - € 3.30.
Bottled water 250 ml - € 3.80

So if you go (at least at the moment) to the BBC’s European football page, what league do you see first? The Australian A League.

€ 3.30 for a cup of tea is quite overpriced. In Spain or France I usually paid € 1.50 for a bottle of coca-cola or a coffee.

I have just finished an on-line English test. There was a reading module with a text with this sentence.

"the house is located half a mile from the city centre"

and one of the questions was:
"the house is located near the city centre. True or false?"

I did not know what to answer It is too relative. For a city with 5.000 inhabitants it could be false, for New York it could be true.
