I've never owned a car with such high mileage.

The highest I've gotten to was 230,000 km in a Renault. My current car just crossed the 50,000 km mark.

My maximum was 199,000km. I'll pass 100,000km for the third time very some (200km missing)...

Season's greetings from Freiburg im Breisgau!

My old 207 had 196,000 km when I gave it back to have the new 3008.
The new one just hit the 5,000 km mark, and I think these days it's gonna make some more (planning to visit Strasbourg, Colmar, Basel and Schaffhausen)

In the car I am currently using - and I use it rarely - the mileage registered on the last technical inspection (almost a year ago, beginning of February 2017) was 256 158 km. It's definitely not much different now.

The car is Corsa B from 1993. And the engine is still in a very good state. Unfortunately, the corrosion is eating it and there is rather no rescue for this car.

Also the radiator is a little bit leaky, but I can't really see any sense in exchanging it in such a car. And the leakage is so small that it isn't a big problem.

Towns in the Alsace are quite nice. Riquewihr is on the list of the most beautiful villages in France.

All towns in Alsace are beautiful, especially Colmar and Strasbourg. Other ones are small, but very nice, like: Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé, Kaysersberg, Eguisheim, Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg or almost any random one
(observe the rather German town names, some with French spelling)

Voloda (or anyone :-)), today I found only three kind of Deli: čokoladová, pistaciová and oriešková. There used to be at least five: malinková and hrozienková (the czech names differ slightly ;-)). They don't exist any more, or I simply had no luck today?

In France, you also have the ville fleurie classification. However, there are 12,000+ of them so they do not stand out as much as the plus beaux villages of which there are only some 150, so they are probably all worth a visit if you're in the area.

WhatsApp group neighborhood sentinels are a big thing in the Netherlands. They can install such signs on access roads to warn potential burglars that such a group is active. It is a deterrent.

Whatsapp is the most widely used app in the Netherlands. Virtually everyone with a smartphone has it installed.

Is there anything like a map of WhatsApp popularity?

In Poland few people use WhatsApp. For organizing anything, when you need a common group, usually Facebook is used. Same with online text communication (except for SMS or just calling).

My old car had some 162,000 km when my brother crashed it. The van I now drive has done 5,000+ km in five months.

About French villages, I've been to the closest "Most beatiful village of France" to me: Navarrenx. Hell, I have it closer than some towns I know well.

Earlier, I had a company car, and the leasing period was three years. Usually, I drove about 100,000 in three years. My current employer has a less attractive package for cars, and I drive my own one. I have used those somewhat more than three years. Just before Christmas, I placed an order for a new Skoda Karoq. It will be delivered perhaps in May or June 2018. I estimated that the current Citroen Grand C4 Picasso will have a score of about 125,000 km at that time, at the age of a few months to four years.

I happened on SSC when looking (through Google Images) for pics of the Voies sur berge in Paris. I was trying to learn the French freeway system and wasn’t sure whether the Voies were a freeway....
I’m not as active lately as I have been at times in the past (not for any reason connected with the forum, just other things to do). The main areas I’ve participated outside H&A are Dutch and Belgian forums, to get a bit of Dutch practice. Haven’t been over there in ages, though.
