Reminds me of the time when me and my friends (all guys) were sitting at this place next to the road. So this car full of chicks came and they tried to parallel park. All the girl got out, but two remained in the car (driver+passenger). One was giving directions to the driver. So, with all the combined effort they parallel parked the car in one go. We all clapped!

I was just thinking about how mobility is taxed in the Netherlands.

Case: I drive a certain amount of kilometers for my boss, and my boss compensates me for that.

Then, I pay the following taxes;

1) excise tax
2) sales tax over excise tax
3) tax over the mileage compensation my employer pays me

So, in fact, you pay three times tax for fuel, a bit over the top, isn't it?

Does anyone know why this subforum is one of rare where you can't find your posts in threads collected in one place? I mean, if you click on the number of replies of a thread, and then on the number of your (or someone else's) posts, it gives you "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.". So annoying.

Does it work on other forums? Never noticed this, because I never used that option.

This option is great, as you can easily find your post, and it usually works, except here, where I need it most.

The search function NEVER works for me...not just here,on 99% of the VB-based forums...

No, not "search". Look in the main H&A page numbers under "Replies" (number of replies) and click on one of them. You get "Who Posted?". Now click one of the numbers of posts (of a forumer) and you'll get "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.". In most other subforums it works and it's great, as you can easily find your (or someone else's) post.

Yes,thats a pre-defined search...it searches for your username,in the given thread. You can perform it yourself.

I've noticed this. I think it occurs throughout the entire World Forums subsection, but nowhere else.

The result will be the same. If you use the post counter, that means some algorithm fills in the username with the one you select, and also modifies the search range to the currently exmined topic.

1) and 2) is the matter of calculating: you can count the sales tax over the excise tax as part of the excise tax...

(e.g.: e.t. is 100 HUF and s.t. is 20%, so I count the e.t. 120 HUF)

3) is ******* idiotism: how can the compensation taxated??
this is not salary, this is compensation! )

when you click "replies" you execute the following search:

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/misc.p...osted&t=581742

when you click "posts" you execute the following search:

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/search...hreadid=581742

but the latter doesnt work in H&A... something is wrong in the database or the search engine...

The entire World Forums section, including its subsections, is not included in the "search in forum(s) section" list.
It seems to be that the World Forums section is not indexed by the search function.

Hehehe, proper teamwork! I have seen such "operations myself", once i was even one of the "outside team"

But hey, at least they did it and that is what i respect, instead of just saying "i cant do it", or bumping in another car...

Well when our coach couldn't get through some tight weird, one direction crossing I had to pretend that I was a some kind of 'policeman' and stop other cars, so coach could get through...

I didn't know 'search' worked at all.

I just did a little roadtrip today

Zwolle - Münster - Wuppertal - Solingen - Essen - Coesfeld - Zwolle

Distance: 555 kilometers
Motorway: ~250 - 300 kilometers (estimate)
Time: 10 am to 5 pm = 7 hours
Stops: none
Top speed: 160 km/h
Traffic jams: B224 Essen
Fuel consumption: 27.6 liters
Or: 1 liter on 20,1 kilometers or 47.3 miles per gallon (diesel)
Costs: ~ € 26
New roads for me: A43 Münster - Wuppertal, A52 Essen - Marl, A44 Velbert + several expressways around Wuppertal and Solingen
