Check this out.

There was a non-mandatory caravan check at two border crossings this weekend. Tourists could let the police and other officials check their combinations.

50% of the checked caravans had too soft, old or worn out tires. 25% were overweight, one caravan was loaded with 100 kg in books, another nuthead had 150 liters of water in his caravan and was 270 kg overweight. 20% of the caravans had improper lighting, and many didn't attach they break-loose brakes properly.

There will be more of these optional check at border crossings in the coming weeks.

And they pulled over voluntarily to have police check them out? That's priceless.

Raining again. We've had these heat showers every second day lately, very unusual. I feel like on the equator, plants are growing like in a jungle.

Had the same a few years ago.
On the bill 2Mb/s - but in fact it was 1250 kb/s - day and night.

Last night I reached 5 MB/s -- 40 Mbit , but only from a Romanian site.
Externally it varies from 600 KB/s to 2 MB/s.

At least with regards to Internet we can compete with the civilized world, and even Japan and South Korea if we talk about local speeds

Well basically, I was 'too slow'. Yeah, I did my best even though 4 or 5 people are supposed to put these boxes onto palletes so most of the time I was working alone on 3 or more lines, and some trainer dick was walking around from time to time telling me to 'speed up and get grip'. Well I have only one pair of hands... and I never got stuck with those boxes, always sorted out on time... they never tell off British people... they expect immigrants to work like horses.

I will get some proper seasonal job in office as a data typist or something That will be better

The quality my digital camera has (640px) at full video resolution.

My HD movies aren't actually HD, but 640px falls between Youtube's HQ and HD. I upgrade them to 720px with a slight loss of quality, but you usually won't even see that. Having a larger screen is much more important.

I can't understand the logic behind the american way of writing the date. If you want an ascending order you write day/month/year, if you prefer descending you can write year/month/day. But the mixed way? I believe that someone sometime looked at the date and said "Hey, that's too logical and ordered for me. Let's write the shortest period in the middle, month/day/year, whaddya think, folks?"

In my opinion the best system is when you write the months with Roman numerals. Therefore you have 08 VII 2009 and there is no confusion whatsoever. Unfortunately in Poland the system died when computerisation began, I don't see dates written like that anymore

Actually, there's no logic in the d/m/y order either, just as in the firstname/surname order. In the first database you come across, surname/firstname the used order, same with the date. Why? Because a computer is a logical thing. If I say,25th of march,it will still bring up infinite results, same with Matthias. On the other hand, entering the surname/year first narrows the results down to considerably less, and 365 days from infinite. Thats why we are among the most logical people,we use both our names and our dates this way.
