Well, I'm back now

I left Ankaran/Ancarano yesterday morning and stayed overnight in Kitzingen, near Würzburg. I drove 3384 km but I haven't seen a single accident

I was indeed in Ljubljana when it was raining, Verso It was only a little bit though and I had an ice cream along the river near the main square

I've enjoyed the trip very much. Slovenia is a neat country, Croatia is quite a mess. I went to Rovinj on monday. The border was a piece of cake - four controls, but not a single officer has touched our passports

Yay, Timon is baaaaack! So how was it? You're lucky, you know? You escaped a terrorist attack on Ljubljana that day; the terrorist is now imprisoned on a neighboring street, so he's my neighbor.

Slovenia looks clean, Croatia still looks unfinished. I didn't notice anything about the rivalry between Slovenia and Croatia, btw

Indeed. Croatia is developing, Slovenia is developed. I'm sure that one day Croatia will look neat as well. The Adriatic coast is beautiful anyway. I've visited Triest, Koper, Piran and Rovinj. Though some of those towns look quite similar on GE they all have a different character. Piran and Rovinj for example. After I had visited Piran I thought Rovinj would be quite the same, but this turned out to be completely wrong.

In general, there are no rivalries in real life. I always feel welcomed in Croatia and people are usually much more friendly and open than Slovenians.

This was the cloud that caused the rain in Ljubljana, btw:

I wish you were right; some people really take it overly seriously. While I feel totally fine and welcome in Croatia, most Slovenians complain like small kids how Croats are unfriendly. Then why do they keep going there?

These are usually people which never or very rarely go to Croatia. Wherever I go in Croatia I always find friendly people there. Which is different in Slovenia - people there are not so open and not so social. It's much harder to talk to unknown people in Slovenia.

It's usual - the more developed, the more reserved. Not always though.

Not so sure about this rule. Americans are not reserved, also not Australians. But central Europe surely is.

Imagine, you're a Belgian trucker, and it's your first day at your new job.

What do you do? Ofcourse, get drunk, and park your truck against the roof of the Maas tunnel in Rotterdam!
